Eysuvis®
Eysuvis® is a prescription corticosteroid eye drop specifically designed for the short-term treatment of dry eye disease, particularly during flare-ups. It is an excellent option for patients who experience periods of worsened dry eye symptoms, providing fast relief from inflammation and discomfort like burning, irritation, and redness
How Eysuvis Works
Eysuvis contains loteprednol etabonate, a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation in the eyes. Dry eye flare-ups can be triggered by factors such as environmental conditions (e.g., seasonal allergies or air conditioning), digital device use, or contact lens wear. Eysuvis targets the inflammation causing these symptoms, helping restore comfort and normal tear production.
Visit our Dry Eye Syndrome page for more information about the condition and its triggers.
Conditions Treated with Eysuvis
Dry Eye Disease Flare-ups: These include periods of increased irritation, burning, or redness caused by environmental factors or extended use of digital devices.
How to Use Eysuvis
Apply one to two drops in each affected eye up to four times a day for up to two weeks.
Shake the bottle for 2-3 seconds before each use to ensure the solution is mixed properly.
If using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between applications to avoid dilution of the treatment.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Prolonged use of corticosteroids like Eysuvis can lead to increased intraocular pressure (IOP), potentially causing glaucoma or damage to the optic nerve. Your eye doctor will monitor your pressure during treatment.
Common side effects include instillation site pain (experienced by 5% of patients) and temporary blurred vision.
